My Favourite Vendors » Truvelle Bridal

I have recently decided to do some blog features on my favourite Vancouver wedding vendors around the city. It’s a great opportunity to showcase some local talent to future brides and also meet some wonderful people along the way :)
Today’s feature on my favourite wedding vendors is on the ever so gorgeous Truvelle Bridal gowns and the group of wonderful people that make it such an amazing worldwide success story. This beautiful story starts with Gaby Bayona, the lovely, incredibly creative and inspiring lady who brought Truvelle in the spotlight in late 2013.
Since then, Truvelle has grown from a one woman team to a group of six creative artists, with two local studios and bridal gowns in 19 international retailers, from South Africa to Australia and Europe.
A big believer in learning by doing, Gaby got into the wedding business right out of high school, when she helped her mom at her New Westminster wedding store. By tweaking her mom’s designs, she eventually turned to designing her own custom made wedding gowns and her wedding gown love only continued to grow until it led her to Truvelle (the word itself is an original word inspired by the French word “trouvaille”, which means “something lovely discovered by chance). Beautiful.
Gaining inspiration from travel and the world around her, Gaby is almost finished designing the 2016 collection, which she says will focus more on cooler tones, silver and blues. The last two years saw more gold and rose gold tones in the beautiful, easy to wear Truvelle gowns with their every so flattering bodices.
When asked what sets Truvelle apart from other dresses, Gaby says their price points are great for the niche market they are in; all the gorgeous gowns are under $2500. Also, they are an incredibly super social media savvy company, able to quickly attract a new generation of engaged couples. Finally, there is no skimping on quality: quality and fit are great, all of the gowns are created and produced locally and the team works mainly with Canadian suppliers.
On a personal note, I LOVE Truvelle’s dresses and would recommend them to all my brides. I’m pretty crazy about the charm and romance in the flowing chifon, the golds and the flattering bodices (Gaby is amazing at figuring out cuts that work for many different body times). The team itself is so incredibly nice and I had such a great time meeting them. We are collaborating on a stylized shoot in the next few weeks and I cannot wait to have my own photos of their beautiful gowns.
If you’re interested in ordering a Truvelle gown, they are made to order and have a wide variety of sizes, from 0 to 14. Gaby recommends ordering your dress at least six months in advance.
