Engagement Session at Boundary Bay and Westham Island
Ah, these two and their beautiful engagement session. Not only have known Milena since she was about five years old, she also assisted me a whole season a couple of years ago! When I got the email inquiring about photographing her own wedding, I was flattered beyond belief. These two are so cute together and I love the idea of photographing their wedding while being surrounded by my own family friends that I also grew up with! Milena and Mihai are not getting married until 2018 but we decided to take advantage of this beautiful weather lately and do their engagement session early!
We spent some time in the Boundary Bay area, on the dike, and at the beautiful Westham Island. It was such a quiet night with stunning light and we took full advantage. I am so happy with the photos from last night and so happy they chose to do an engagement session. I can’t say again how great it is to practice ahead of time and figure out how much direction (or little) you need, how shy (or outgoing) you are, etc. On top of practicing, you will have photos that you can use for invitations, guest books, to frame, to gift to family, etc. Finally, we get to know each other a bit so when the wedding comes around, we are well acquainted and photos are even easier! Of course, with being friends both of these two, this wasn’t the case, but it was still so helpful to practice!
